My 200hr yoga teacher training experience and tips on how to choose a training
I completed my first 200hr teacher training in 2018 with Green Yoga International. I had already been practicing yoga for around a year before I decided to do my training so had a basic understanding of what to look for. Honestly, I didn’t want to travel to far afield as I didn’t feel confident travelling by myself, so I decided to look for a training in Europe.
I came across Green Yoga International in Mallorca. I saw that they offered a multi style training which covered Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hatha and Yin. This was perfect for me as I wasn’t entirely sure what style I wanted to be qualified in teaching and knew that learning about them all would only benefit me and help me choose what I wanted to specialise in.
I had such a great experience here, I learnt so much and had the confidence to walk away from the training and start teaching straight away. This was important for me to be able to do as I had quit my job to become a yoga teacher!

Tips when looking for a teacher training
Look at teachers that you like their style of teaching and ask them where they did their training. Recommendations are always the best as they have experienced the school.
Make sure they teach the style of yoga that you are interested in learning about.
In person or online? There are a lot of courses online now and I have experienced both. Personally, I am super glad that I did my first teacher training in person. It gave me such confidence to go off and teach straight away.
Check that the school is certified with Yoga Alliance or Yoga Alliance Professionals. If you want to be accredited with these then you will need to make sure that the trainings offer this.
Read the reviews of other students. See if others have had a good experience there.
