3 things I’ve been doing in the evening to improve my health (which I feel 100 times better for)

Last year I slipped into some bad habits. I was on my phone in bed and not getting a great nights sleep, this was then having an overall impact on my day, making me feel unproductive and negative. I decided in the new year to take action and to try and kick this habit!

I have made these three changes in the evening and can honestly say I feel 100 times better for it. I can’t see myself going back to the way I was before as I feel much better with my new routine.

🚫 Charging my phone in a different room

Before I was charging my phone right next to bed so I could go on it at any time I wanted to. I wanted to break this habit as I didn’t feel that it was doing me any good to be scrolling late at night or to be looking at my screen. So I decided to start charging my phone in another room over night and then temptation was taken away.

📖 Reading before I go to sleep

Another issue I was having is that I wasn’t looking forward to reading before I went to bed. This was because I was reading the wrong books, ones that were just on the book shelf (that Sam enjoys reading!) that just weren’t my style. So I brought a few books that I thought I would enjoy reading and find interesting. Now reading before bed is one of the highlights of my day.

🫧 More skin care and less tv

I have been trying to limit my tv time to spend less time on screens in the evening as I’m on them most of the day with my work. I wanted to be spending my time in the evening doing something positive for myself that was calming so that I could unwind for sleep. I love skin care and trying new products so I decided to switch some of my tv time to spending more time on my skin care. This gets me into a calm and relaxed state ready for a good nights sleep.
